Keyboard Lab
 

Grant approved for 15 new keyboards.  The Keyboard Lab is used every day by all AMS students.  All 4th-5th grade students will be learning how to play the keyboards in music class.  6-8th grade music major and minor students will also be using the keyboards throughout the school year.  This project benefits every music student at AMS.

 

 
 
 
 
 
Portable Cushioned, Non-slip Dance Floor

 

The Alexandria Township Schools Dance Department requested the purchase of a portable, cushioned, non-slip, vinyl dance floor.  The floor will be used to protect our dancers from injury, making the LDW dance space safe for daily class and the AMS cafeteria space safe for performance. 

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 

The Human Body-A Franklin Institute Assembly

Sensory Experiences


Providing Preschool children with sensory play experiences is very important for helping them learn about their world.  This grant provided for sensory materials which help children talk about their experience and connect what they are learning to a better understanding of their environment and fosters development of fine and gross motor ability, pre-academic skills and problem solving.

 

 

 

 

Book Club

 

The 3-BE Book Club is a voluntary group that will meet once a week at lunch.  It is a teacher led group focused on developing a love for reading and discussing literature.  It will teach 3rd grade students how to read literature analytically and also to discuss varying viewpoints thoughtfully and respectfully.

 

 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 

Smartmusic for Smart bands
 
Smartmusic is an ideal practice tool for band students.  It is an interactive application in which students can select and perform music from a varied library of music and record their practice session and receive immediate feedback on their performance.
